This poem was written in response to a topic posted in the Poetic Moments Forum from a young lady who was dealing with being left alone.

You Can Count On Him!

So many times in our walk with God
Our way can seem so hard
We’re faced with so many obstacles
Feel like giving up...because we’re tired  

But then our Father strengthens us
He tells us just HOLD ON
Because He’s called us for A PURPOSE
That’s the reason we were born  

Oh YES we’ll have some tears to shed
And many will walk away
But JESUS assures us in HIS WORD
That HE will ALWAYS stay  

See I know what it’s like to have someone
Especially one...you really love
Walk out on you for someone else
And YOUR FEELINGS just seem to shove  

Forget the kids they don’t even count
This they make you feel
And you’re left alone....just you and God
And with reality you must deal  

So on your face you pray to God
To help you see your way
And always in His loving way
He renews you DAY by DAY  

Just when you think you’ve seen it all
Well here comes something new
The tricks, the lies, the mockery
All these get thrown at you  

But once again you turn to God
For your way is dark and dim
You climb into HIS PRESENCE
You KNOW you can count on Him  

So you sing to Him a LOVE SONG
You tell Him how you feel
For in spite of all your problems
You know your love FOR HIM is real  

With your mouth you begin to adore Him
And you bow before His Feet
His Spirit just overwhelms you
Because He is so sweet  

Then He tells you child....now GO ON
Just keep your eyes on Me
For when this test is over
The VICTORY you shall see  

For others may forsake you
But on Me you can depend
Oh YES He will give you POWER
To arise and ALWAYS WIN  

So let Him take that BROKEN HEART
And in *HIS HANDS* begin to mend
So you can tell the Whole Wide World
