This poem was written in response to a topic posted in the Poetic Moments Forum regarding receiving prophetic words from preachers.

If Only Men Would Hear

God speaks His Word so clearly
It’s contained in EVERY BOOK
If only God’s precious people
Would take the time to look  

Such a very, very SURE WORD
Yes a word of prophecy
I wish I could remove the veil
So HIS MYSTERIES they could see  

God promised in these LAST DAYS
SONS and DAUGHTERS would prophesy
They’d warn of the coming antichrist
So mens souls wouldn’t have to die  

But instead they want a wonder
Someone to tell them who they are
Instead they look for people
Talking about a brand new car  

Yes they long for some old reverend
To tell them they are blessed
When they can open up the WORD OF GOD
Which can help them out their mess  

Oh yes my God He is THE SAME
And no HIS WORD has never changed
But nobody wants to pay the price
And let THEIR LIFE be rearranged  

But THERE IS a MIGHTY ARMY
Who have not bowed a knee to baal
They’re destined for a purpose
And no IT will never fail  

Their orders come from God
And it’s as HIS SPIRIT wills
Speaking only forth His Oracles
As their mouth HIS SPIRT fills  

See they’re blowing a mighty TRUMPET
Oh can’t you hear the sound
They’re not looking for the spot light
But just know . . . they CAN BE found  

They’re digesting our Fathers Word
Every chance they can
They MUST fulfill their life long calling
To warn each and every man  

Yes they understand THE VISIONS
They can see them oh so plain
And like all the prophets of yesterday
Popularity they’ll never gain  

For they’ll never, ever compromise
Or deter from our Gods Word
They’re constantly planting and spreading seeds
Come on tell me . . . Have YOU heard?  

Forget all the lying psychics
Who take your MONEY and your MIND
Just open up THE BIBLE
And a SURE WORD you shall find
