This poem was written in response to a topic posted in the Poetic Moments Forum regarding the necessity of attending a “church” building.

Get The Church In You!

So many of God’s people
Have questions about this thing
But if you think about it
Revelation He will bring  

Just WHO now is THE CHURCH
A building on the street
Is it a group of religious people
Who on each weekend love to meet  

No WE are a called-out people
And we're separate from the world
People from EVERY nationality
Men, women, boys, and girls  

Do we need a physical building
Just to say we are a part
Or do we need THE WORD of God
Implanted in our heart

Oh so many quote the scripture
Which says forsake not to attend
They've taken it out of context
And it’s become a TRADITION OF MEN  

No it doesn’t say “A Building”
To assemble ourselves with Him
But just exhort our fellow believers
Before the day grows dim  

But do you need a teacher
That’s the question you must ask
Cause if you’re a BABY CHRISTIAN
This could be a difficult task  

Yes you need to feed your spirit
So as a baby you may grow
For in THIS GENERATION
THE WORD you’ll have TO KNOW  

For satan is DECEIVING
And he’s pulling out all the tricks
He’ll put HIS MARK right in your head
And hopes that it sure sticks  

So make sure and very sure
That the Church is down IN you
Make sure you’re SEALED by JESUS
My God what ever else you do  

Just stay in My Gods Presence
Because He will not steer you wrong
Feast DAILY on the LIVING WORD
That way you will be strong

  Find yourself  A TEACHER
That’s rooted in THE WORD
Put on the Gospel Armor
And keep playing back what you’ve heard  

For this is not the time
To allow CONFUSION in
Just stay in my God’s Word
And  then you will ALWAYS WIN!!!!
