You're Gonna Need A Friend

Love is caring
Love is kind
Sista these kind of people
Are hard to find

You have a friend
Who is concerned about you
Take her advice
If it's the last thing you do

Love is not hitting and beating up on you
Even for silly
Little dumb things you do

Love brings you joy
And gives you peace inside
Then from your family or friends
You won't have to hide

You're gonna need a friend
When the days are dark and gray
You may have to call on them
To intercede and pray

Mike doesn't love you
NO, not like a real man should
If you asked him to prove it
I doubt it, if he could

Listen to your friend
BEFORE things get out of hand
YOU make the decision
YOU take a stand

Tell Mike NO
I deserve much more than this
I'm tired of being depressed
Because of the impact of your fist

Those who really love you
Will be there to dry your tears
They'll comfort and restore you
And erase away your fears

Go to those who care
And are genuinely concerned for you
For sista friends are hard to find
Their numbers are very few . . .
