Gordon Greene idontshare@webtv.net 1/8/2005 8:34 AM Just Another Normal Day options:email:idontshare@webtv.net It was just another normal day Parents at work and children play Vactioners enjoy the beauty of nature Lovers enjoy their sensual pleasure Families gather for a morning meal Businessmen negotiate and deal Students doing their time in school A lifeguard sits at the hotel pool A lonely artist sits on the beach Listening to what the oceans teach Gentle waves caress the shore This beauty is difficult to ignore Brush strokes capture this paradise As canvas the waves paralyze This picture of perfect scenery Reflections of perception and imagery Without warning the tsunami came Not even time to call out a name Families in a moment torn apart Helplessly watch a loved one depart Fear seizes in its awful grip As you feel your hands begin to slip Into the torrent of destruction you go Raging waters tossing to and fro For a moment the waters stop and then Back to the ocean pulling everything in In its aftermath an errie scene Of total devastation is seen Stunned survivors barely cling to life A husband cannot find his wife Childrens cries fill the air This is now a land of despair Our hearts break for those who died And for those who have survived The landscape is now a desolation For these there is no consolation A mother weeps for here missing child Dead bodies in mass graves are piled Great was the loss of lives lost Immense wil be the rebuilding cost The United States is like this paradise As we depart from truth and hold to lies Leaving the rock we build on sand Ignoring danger we do not understand Homes constructed by the ocean of sin Blocking the light to let darkness in Heaven on earth as we live in comfort Avoiding any who would disrupt or hurt A lonely christian sits on the beach How can he for his GOD others reach Seeking wisdom from GOD above Desiring to have a heart of love Trying to capture a thought or word To share with others what he heard Painting a word picture in the sand Hoping that someone will understand Abortion on demand is a right How could we have lost our sight Gay by birth and not a choice In this convenient lie many rejoice Alcohol and sexuality is glorified Church and morality is villified Sin may be wrong but not illegal Wounded falls the bald eagle Broken homes and unwed mothers No one seems to care for brothers Violent streets and crowded bars Everybody has their scars Suicide and homicide Who gets to decide Free love comes at a high price Players roll the dice The church sees the tsunami of sin So much devastation where do we begin Pledges are nice but the need is great To act tomorrow will seal today's fate We must do what we can where we are People need you not a superstar Just open your heart and let them in Then trust GOD to work a miracle within .....peace.....
