GOD is near yet so far away
Why is it that He does not stay


Longing for Him with me to abide 
Overwhelmed by emptiness inside


Unable to find the peace I seek
His grace sufficient but I am weak 


My life is on hold while I await
Hoping for answers before too late 









Beside the pool sits an invalid
Crippled by a past that is hid


Knowing not the hidden chain
Wrapped and locked around his brain


Unable to move he sits alone
A heart of flesh turned to stone


Another sits with tears in her eyes
Victim of the tormentor's lies


Unworthy of love she sits alone
Weeds and thorns around her grown


Choking her hope she is in despair
A broken life that's beyond repair


Another is blind unable to see
The healing that flows from Calvary


Walking in light living in darkness
How the enemy loves to oppress


Walking by feelings instead of light
So very long and dark the night








Inside the church many are waiting
For GOD to do a spiritual stirring


Send a mighty wind fire or earthquake
Lord please do whatever it takes


But GOD is not in the wind fire or quake
He does not act in any scenario we make


GOD still speaks with a still small voice
To those who make His words first choice


Who place His word above circumstance
And do not around His will try to dance








Many seek answers but few seek Him
Then wonder why their light grows dim


Our complicated lives with so many whys
Only when we simplify can we glorify


With simple trust and obedience
And not offering any resistance


One walks away with problems in hand
So many others still do not understand
