Perfect christians with their superiority
Look down on me because of my inferiority

Wounded and scarred I'm not a pretty sight
I am here today but it was quite a fight

I do not have a perfect testimony to tell
My life story certainly would not sell

Along the way seeds were planted
GOD's amazing grace was often granted





Beyond the skin and into the heart
GOD searches thoroughly every part

From the ashes of failure new life came
When you finally "get it" you're never the same

The ear of the learned listens intently
And then responds to the wounded gently

Learn of Me and take upon you My yoke
A word of knowledge that is fitly spoke

I will have mercy and not sacrifice
Humility only comes at a price






In the church there are many who are invalid
By something that happened or that they did

Unable to find healing they sit at the pool
Ignoring (or blaming them) we can be so cruel

Where there is no vision the people perish
GOD knows well what we truly cherish





More tears shed for than words against
His sheep too often needlessly fenced

Hirelings are always looking for reasons 
Sheep cannot feed in "spiritual prisons"

Shepherds are born out of adversity
Far from the world of religiousity

They know the sheep with all their traits
Always looking for traps the enemy baits





Love reaches to one stuck in a pit
Religious people are content to sit

In the seat of the scornful they recline
GOD's will and sin they have well-defined

I will have mercy and not sacrifice
The guiltless always pay the price

On a hill far away Jesus looked and cried
Will we ever truly understand why He died
